I wondered where fordstar was these days. Welcome 1307

Re: Nordtveit
Haven't heard a word of discontent from him all year despite Bilic not really giving him a chance and when he gets a game its out of position.
So well played today, all things considered he's played an excellent match .

Re: Nordtveit
He might have had his best game today, but that's measured against a very low bar.
Unfortunately he is as slow as 'Nobes' and gives the ball away far too easily.
I'm out.

Re: Nordtveit
In all fairness to the bloke when I saw the starting XI I was expecting the worst from Nordveit and Calleri given how poor they've been in previous games.

First 5-10 minutes had me thinking "here we go again" but then he got a grip on the game and looked more assured as it went on.

He put a shift in, made tackles, read the game well - he'll have a higher standard to meet to make it at the club, there'll certainly be a higher performance from opposition for him to deal with. But the guy can only play the team in front of him on a Saturday, today he did a good job and deserves a crack at the next four games to prove he's worth having around next year.

Re: Nordtveit
He was excellent today, was with a Forest fan at the game and he kept going on about how good number 4 is. Clear MOTM, followed closely by Masuaku.

Captained the 3Rd placed Bundesliga team last season, in central midfield, and he is levels above Kouyate, he just needed to be played and backed, but some idiots make up their minds and that's that.

I'm interested in what Crassus thought about it?

Re: Nordtveit
Same as Calleri best I have seen him play strangely ( sic) enough in his PREFERRED position in protecting our back line just like he did at BM his last Club.

Begs the question why we pay for these players only to play them out of thier normal/preferred position?

Spurs have Wamyama and Died as DM options we have Nordveit......and fans accept it.
Enough said.

Re: Nordtveit
1307 you are straying, nobody is saying Nordtveit is some kind of saviour or to be compared with Wanyama, he is one of the players who was to be written off, but yesterday he showed he had something about him and had a very good game.
He deserves to be given a chance in the next few games.
Next season is another matter.

Re: Nordtveit
I can kind of see the point some are making. He had a decent game, he came to us with a good pedigree, he shouldn't be written off and deserves more chances. Fair enough. But I don't think he will make it, he doesn't look like a natural footballer, is slow and is one of these that needs to stop the ball first before moving it on. I'd be surprised if he ever cements down a regular starting berth.

Re: Nordtveit
Much better game overall, nullified Barkley and made some good passes.

I wonder if he's a decent player when the game is slower, like yesterday, but has struggled with the tempo of most PL games.

Re: Nordtveit
Like Masuaku, stepping up to the plate when we need them, how many expected anything from this game? Also showing that being played in their preferred position helps!

Hopefully some no mark European club will give us a couple million for him now.

"I wonder if he's a decent player when the game is slower"

It's a lot slower in Sunday League. He'll do well there.

Wages are a bit lower mind.

Re: Nordtveit
He was 50/50 yesterday and yes it helped playing in his preferred position.

Re: Nordtveit
Started a bit shaky but i thought he broke up play well, its his 1st time played in his proper position and if a team has zero shots on target then you know your defence and defensive midfielders have done there job. Defo should start next game and see how he gets on from there!

threesixty 11:11 Sun Apr 23
Re: Nordtveit
When we restrict a team going for top 7 to zero shuts on target instead of praising our players we say that the opposition was playing poorly! Ffs what is wrong with us?

This team has a striker who has always scored against us and has some 80m value yet we kept him quiet but people feel it's cos they couldn't be bothered!

West Ham fans = moaning wives that are never happy, ever.

Re: Nordtveit
Thought he had a very decent game..... The fella has pedigree so can't be THAT bad.
Calleri however.....
